Nice, I just recently got my Blackfoot up and running after many, many years. The brittle plastic, causes something to break everytime I drive it. Where do you get that body mount system? I need that!
This will be my motivation on my first rc / custom rc build 🤯 imma get the rc4wd 4runner body and use the j concepts 73s for a killer monster truck crawler.
right on man! Good luck with the build
What thickness sheet did you use?
.030
what happen to CAPO GRT R34? do you complete or quit that car?
didnt quit, just slacked off because they were releasing a lot of hop-ups/upgrades for it so I didnt want to have to take it back apart to install those goodies.
Ive got the real version of this truck
A what kind of Blackfoot? Did you say ta my ya? 😂
First - congratulations Mike on getting married! Chernabog also says congrats! I got hitched too back in July 2011. (Sheesh...has it been that long already?) Amazingly, my wife still puts up with me and all of my toys! Thank you for the update and I look forward to seeing all of those projects in future videos. At 6:01 you mentioned that the new Chatham CNC quad roll bar for Clod Busters was made by Stormer Hobbies. The only Clod Buster parts that knew of that were made and sold by Stormer were the 4:1 gear reduction units. The only company that I knew that made the aluminum quad roll bars was ESP. Was there some collaboration between Stormer and ESP that I was not aware of? I know that ESP at least sold the quad roll bar because it is in my ESP catalog from about 1988. I have often wondered about how popular it was because I have only seen it on one Clod Buster over the years, the ESP "King Clod." The ESP dual tube roll bar also seems to be pretty rare because I have only seen a few over the years. I like how Chatham CNC did not make a carbon copy of the roll bars too so people can tell the difference between an original and a new one. I am looking at the quad roll bar on the Chatham CNC website and comparing it to the original one on the ESP "King Clod" now and the new reproduction has chamfers on the side plates while the original one does not. Also, the Chatham one can be bolted to the bed with additional screws at the rear of the roll bar if holes are drilled through the bed floor. The quad roll bar on the "King Clod" does not have that option and it can only be secured via four screws in the original holes in the Tamiya Clod Buster body. I think that the Chatham CNC roll bars look much nicer than the ESP (or is that Stormer?) ones. They look like they are finished much nicer. My only complaint is that the optional bar for the Ram lights can only accommodate four lights. The one on the "King Clod" can hold five lights on it, which is really nice. They are a very tight fit on there though as the aluminum light bodies actually touch one another. Congrats again and I look forward to your next video!
@@Locoboy5150 thanks brotha ! As we know a lot of parts back then were sold across various vendors back in the day. For example, many APM parts were also sold by CCP and Smokin Hobbies. Interestingly enough, many of parts from APM/smokin/CCP weren’t even made by them but were made be Wedico (the super scale tractor trailers I’m sure you remember). As far as the mega bar goes, I know ESP made and sold one and I am 99% sure I recall and ad in RCCA where stormer hobbies had one as well. Maybe ESP made it for them ? Kinda like how SEES made the wheels for TMS? I agree a 5 light option would be rad, and I actually had an original bar here for a while that was technically a buddies and that’s how I got the dimensions off of it for Chatham to machine it. I literally just traced a side plate onto a piece of paper haha.
@@MikesRCWorld That's funny how tracing that part on paper lead to a fantastic finished product. Whatever it takes to get the job done! Thank you so much for giving other fellow Clod Buster owners and fans easy access to these rare parts. In case anyone is curious, here is some information about those roll bars directly from my old ESP catalogs. Quad tube roll bar, part number ESP020 - $49.95 Light mounting bar, part number 009B - $4.95 Ram roll bar lights, no part number - $24.95/pair in 1988 & $21.95/pair in 1994 Twin tube roll bar, part number ESP009 - $34.95 in 1988 & $39.95 in 1994 Note that I only have three ESP catalogs at the moment from the years 1988, 1994, and 2000. The 2000 catalog does not have any of the roll bars or roll bar optional parts above listed in it so I suspect that they were all discontinued by then. That would follow how the Clod Buster aftermarket business had changed overall as companies were more focused on all out performace and multi-link suspension systems in the early 2000s rather than on just appearance and show trucks.
Fantastic video and congratulations! It's a good thing that a horrible driver like me wasn't driving the Purple People Eater Clod Buster, otherwise it would have probably crashed into one of those chairs...or your ankle!
@@Locoboy5150 lol I requested my professional driver, Dan Wyatt to avoid just that haha

2 months ago I dug up my old clod Buster out of the basement it's been down there for 18 years I totally disassembled it and started from scratch I bought a ton of upgraded aluminum parts and just got mine all back together I'm pretty excited about it it looks really good I think
@@Hayseed1776 right on man, clods are a lot of fun
Awesome club Buster buddy
I think I have pink eye brah
I am a little late to the party but that is a beautiful Clod Buster! I nearly had a heart attack at 6:35 when it looked like it was going to roll over. Thank goodness it did not go "rubber side up" but I sure hope that the front end was not damaged in any way by the sand. Even that little "endo" would have freaked me out if I were driving! Thanks for the video of your truck in action. It took me back to the late 1980s when modified Clod Busters looked like that before the days of four link suspension systems.
do you get CD15829ED Rear seat and ceiling finish option?
Sick!
All ya show is how to cut a piece of plastic and spay paint it. Which is nothing really. How is it mounted, and on what bracket. Otherwise worthless.
